Text Box: Dear Parents,

Nothing beats summertime in Charlevoix the Beautiful, but a close second is the fresh start of a new school year! The staff and I are excited and ready to welcome our children back for the 2008-2009 school year. A special welcome goes out to the Rayder classes of 2021 and 2022, our new Kindergarten and
Begindergarten kids!

We have some exciting changes this year! We welcome our new special education teacher, Courtney Kemp. Courtney will be filling the vacancy left by Sarah Cowan, who is now going to be teaching 3rd grade. Marcy Murdick is moving to 4th grade. We are also pleased to have Jackie Towsley working in the office with Sue this year.

Parent Open House is on Wednesday, August 27th. Staff will be in their classrooms between
4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to welcome students, hand
out information, and answer any question parents may have. We look forward to seeing all of you there!

Please continue to take a vested interest in your child’s education. Simple things like reading daily to your child, making sure homework is done and attending school functions make a huge difference in helping your child be successful in school. Prompt and consistent attendance is the most important thing you can do as a parent. Research shows that students with poor attendance habits in elementary school have the most problems socially and academically in high school.

Our custodians did a superb job getting our building ready, and the teachers have been in throughout the summer making their rooms welcoming for “their kids”. We are all committed to making this the best year ever!

See you on August 27th for our Parent Open House!
		Yours for kids!
