Physics 2000 will provide applets that will take you on an interactive journey through modern physics & chemistry! I enjoy this site because it is actually fun using the applets to learn visually and conceptually about 20th Century science and how high-tech devices utilize quantum theory. Be sure to access the Science Trek Link for the "Cliff's" Notes to Quantum Theory assignment. |
| Atomic Evolution is a site dedicated to giving its users an expanded knowledge of the atom and how it impacts our past, present, and future. The site covers a wide range of topics including Greek views, quantum theory, and nuclear fission. Users can interact with others through a messageboard and chat room, and can enhance their experience through a Flash game, movies, images, and experiments that can be done at home. | |
| The "Investigations" on this site are Internet-based activities that use animations, interactive graphics, and unique imagery to help students gather information about a particular science theme, issue, or concept. For each investigation, students examine a sequence of Web pages on which they manipulate graphics or interpret image data. The site's theme is geared more toward Earth science, but the link that I have here deals with atomic structure. | |
| Atomic Magic helps students on their quest to study the atom. This site presents a study of energy levels, orbitals, configurations, covalent bonding, hybridizations, VSEPR Theory, and polar bonds. This is an extensive look at the atom, with many graphics. The biographical section presents information on several famous scientists who contributed to the study of the atom, and a brief time line puts it all in perspective. |
