Academic Excellence
In sixth grade, students wrote and sent letters that were published in the Petoskey News Review and the Charlevoix Courier. Students also researched and reported on some aspect of Mexico in conjunction with their Social Studies classes. Seventh grade students published a nature book and incorporated it into a PowerPoint presentation for their classmates and parents. They also wrote a research paper and generated an animal brochure as a cross-curricular project. Eighth grade students researched an event in American history in conjunction with their social studies class and wrote historical fiction stories based on their research. Students at all grade levels maintain writing portfolios using the Collins writing method.
